Drama, drama, drama... it never ends!!
Some teams take a break to play games, gotta amp everyone up for 7 million more hours of drama training y'all!
While the Students were working hard on their dramas some of our leaders were hard at work making costume alterations, last minute K-mart runs, and packing up all our supplies for the flights out. GO LEADERS!
Finally, after two days of all this crazy training some teams finally get to preform for each other. All the kinks are worked out, Evil Magicians have learned to wield their wands, Kats have put the final rips in their colorful costumes, the Princesses have practiced looking in their mirrors for hours, and all the mimes have built up those mega muscles they'll be needing for holding their arms up for endless hours... we're finally ready to head out to Guatemala with our super snazzy drama!
During our language/cultural training sessions everyone was given little cards with a short conversation and prayer to memorize. We will be using these cards to help with talking to people after the Drama. We also were taught many more Spanish phrases and learned about the Country and it's people.
During our FUAGNEMs in Miami we got to meet some of our international Students... Girls have traveled from England and Mexico to serve with us in Guatemala this year!
We heard testimonies from students, some of them told us about how God has been working in their lives since last years trip to Guatemala, it's really great to hear about how God is still working in their lives.
Susie also introduced us to Becky, one of our LITs... she told us about the business she runs in FL.
Some more of our LITs showed us all the handy ways we can use our extra peanut butter to keep up with our hygiene during our 10 days in Antigua... Apparently it makes for a great face scrub, hair conditioner, and shaving cream... who knew?!
During our FUAGNEMs in Miami we were brought into great worship and heard from some more marvelous speakers...
One speaker we heard from was Shari Braendel, she shared her life testimony with us and at the end challenged us to write down things we wanted to either give up or commit to God. We all took our papers of promises and laid them on the stage, a symbol of laying them down at the foot of the cross.
Well, now that we're all trained and prayed up and ready to go... it's time for a good nights sleep before we head out to the airport in the morning... some of us have really early lobby times, so goodnight everyone! See you in Guatemala!!!
